Hosted by ‘Me & Lil’ Brother’, “Hillbilly BINGO” lends a service to both the interactive game-gooer as well as those out for some good ol’ honkey tonkin’ rockin’ tunes.
Ian Hummel and Zachariah Whitney are talented singers, songwriters, and engaging front men who lead local country bands. Hummel fronts The Apple Bottom Gang, an eight-piece hillbilly orchestra that has taken the Columbus music scene by storm. Whitney heads up the Slick City Ramblers, a Columbus-based, bare bones, honky-tonk band. Both outfits feature original music and classic country covers. Hummel and Whitney each bring a wealth of experience and material to any stage.
Hummel and Whitney have decided to bring their own brand of relaxed fun to the people. Shows are characterized by spontaneous interaction between the Brothers and their audience; shouting requests and singing along are highly encouraged, and the good times are infectious. Their format echoes the great tradition of country music partnerships. Like Roy and Buck on Hee Haw, or Willie and Waylon, their off-stage chemistry adds an easy going, fun loving approach to the country music they take very seriously. Whether they’re singing about trains or trucks, farms or prisons, or whiskey and women, the Brothers mix humor and their vast knowledge of country music to entertain, enlighten, and indulge their fans.
